Like other austenitic grades, our Stainless Steel 321/321H Plates have excellent forming and welding characteristics, are readily brake or roll formed and have outstanding welding characteristics. This tainless Steel 321 Coils has a maximum use temperature of 1500 Degree F (816 Degree C) for code applications like Type 304, whereas Type 321/321H is limited to 800 Degree F (426 Degree C). Our SS 321 Plates has similar corrosion behavior to Type 304 with the exception of improved inter - granular corrosion resistance due to the titanium addition for stabilization.

In order to provide optimum resistance to inter - granular corrosion in these SS 321/321H Coils and to polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking in service temperatures at 1500 Degree F – 1650 Degree F, an air cool may be used. Our 321/321H Stainless Steel Sheets is used extensively for applications where the addition of titanium and its stabilizing effect as a carbide forming element allows it to be welded and/or used within the carbide precipitation range 430 Degree C – 870 Degree C without the risk of inter - granular corrosion. These 321/321H Stainless Steel Plates offers higher creep and stress rupture properties than Alloy 304 and, particularly, Alloy 304L, which might also be considered for exposures where sensitization and inter - granular corrosion are concerns.
